This location has not (yet) been visited by us. This page only provides general information.

The only Dutch belfry is located in the beautiful fortified town of Sluis. These watchtowers are normally only found in historic Flemish and Northern French cities.

These city towers were the symbol of free and prosperous cities. And you can sense that history when you walk into the council chamber with its lavish decorations.

On the second floor, the museum tells the history of the city in an interactive way and the third floor is dedicated to Mr Van Dale (creator of the Dutch dictionary).

The literal highlight is of course climbing the tower (90 steps) via the spiral staircase. From the viewpoint you have a beautiful view of Sluis and you can plan your city stroll on the city walls.
